The 23rd European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB2024) takes place from September 16-20, 2024, in Turku, Finland. The event, jointly hosted by the University of Turku and BioDT project coordinator CSC – IT Center for Science, brings together scientists from diverse fields including computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, biology, and medicine.
The conference's primary focus is on data and algorithms for health and science, with IT infrastructures supporting research also on the agenda. ECCB2024 is significant as it provides a platform for multidisciplinary expertise to address growing global challenges and advance health and well-being through data-driven approaches. The event will feature top keynotes, talks, lively poster sessions, exhibitions, and social events, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Chaired by Prof. Laura Elo from the University of Turku and Dr. Tommi Nyrönen from ELIXIR Finland, the conference leverages Turku's strong health and bioscience expertise cluster and CSC's advanced computing resources, including LUMI, Europe's fastest supercomputer.
Representing the BioDT project at this important gathering will be Gabriela Zuquim, BioDT project manager from CSC, underscoring the project's engagement with cutting-edge developments in computational biology and its applications in health sciences.
