Brussels is set to welcome the 29th meeting (GB29) of the GBIF Governing Board, and the Belgian Biodiversity Platform and the Belgian Science Policy are proud to act as hosts on behalf of Belgium.
The highly anticipated event will feature a series of engaging activities:
- GBIF committee meetings are scheduled to take place on 2nd October 2022.
- The official Governing Board meeting that spans from 3rd to 5th October 2022.
- On 5th October 2022, a public event titled "Looking forward: working together to achieve GBIF’s strategic priorities" to offer valuable insights and discussions.
- The concluding day, 6th October 2022, will witness the Data Beyond Borders symposium, a joint collaboration between Biodiversa+ and GBIF.
After two years of virtual meetings, the organisers eagerly anticipate hosting the delegates in Brussels, marking the first-ever hybrid GBIF Governing Board meeting. Attendees have the option to participate either in person or remotely, ensuring broad accessibility and inclusivity. Those attending in person will have the opportunity to engage in social events alongside the substantive program.
BioDT at the GB29 Belgium
In conjunction with GB29, GBIF representatives involved in the BioDT project have thoughtfully arranged the annual governance meeting of national Heads of delegation, representing diverse stakeholders in biodiversity data, including EU countries.
This remarkable gathering of experts and decision-makers aimed to facilitate discussions, foster collaboration, and shape the future of biodiversity data management.
