The EOSC Symposium 2024 will be held from October 21-23, 2024, at the H4 Hotel Alexanderplatz in Berlin, Germany. Under the patronage of German Minister for Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger, this event is organised by the EOSC Association in collaboration with the EOSC-A German Mandated Organisation, NFDI, and supported by the Horizon Europe project EOSC Focus and the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics.

This symposium is crucial for shaping the future of EOSC post-2027. It serves as a key platform for networking and exchanging ideas among policy makers, funders, and representatives from research institutions, communities, and data and e-Infrastructures within the EOSC ecosystem. The event will feature 26 sessions covering various topics, including EOSC Tripartite Partnership ambitions, the EOSC Federation, the launch of the EOSC EU Node, and the impact of emerging trends like Artificial Intelligence on the EOSC landscape.

Additionally, the symposium will explore synergies with the German National Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and collaborate with the Open Science Conference, further emphasising its significance in advancing open science practices.

BioDT role at the EOSC Symposium

BioDT will play a significant role in the symposium, participating in a dedicated session on October 22nd from 17:00 to 18:00. The project manager, Gabriela Zaquim (CSC - IT Center for Science), will present BioDT as part of the session titled "EOSC and the Digital Twins."

This session aims to showcase various Digital Twins initiatives in Europe, including BioDT, and highlight their potential in revolutionising scientific research methods. The presentation will focus on interoperability challenges, transferrable approaches, and tools, demonstrating how Digital Twin Platforms can contribute to future EOSC Nodes.

BioDT's participation in this session provides a unique opportunity to showcase our work and engage with the broader EOSC community, potentially fostering new collaborations and advancing the integration of Digital Twins within the EOSC ecosystem.
